Chicago beef heiress Penny Vienna finds herself attending another lavish party in jolly old England hosted by the eccentrically grieving Lord Haywood. The weekend’s frivolities are shattered by a series of eerie telephone calls with no one on the other end, followed by the discovery of the phone lineman, dead on the lawn. When Inspector Mastiff arrives, he's unsurprised to find Penny already on the scene with suspects, theories and a tray of oysters.
